چکیده
This study reports the direct production of an aluminium-titanium alloy during aluminium electrolysis in fluoride-based melts. Experiments were conducted a laboratory cell dedicated to current efficiency measurements. The temperature was varied from 960 980 °C at cathodic density (CCD) 0.9 A/cm2 and cryolite ratio (CR) 2.2. titanium content up 1.0 wt%. Titanium added form TiO2 precursor. Bath samples collected regularly analyzed with ICP-MS observe decay electrolysis. for electrodeposition Al–Ti alloys estimated be least around 90%. surface solidified metal deposits mostly flat, but some partially deformed.

The Influence of Fluoride Anion on the Equilibrium between Titanium Ions and Electrodeposition of Titanium in Molten Fluoride–Chloride Salt
NaClKClTiClx was prepared via using titanium sponge to reduce titanium tetrachloride in a NaClKCl melt under a negative pressure at 1023K. The relationship between titanium valence states and [F]/[Ti] molar ratios was investigated with successive adding potassium fluoride in the pre-prepared NaClKClTiClx. It was found that the average valence of titanium ions tended to be stable around 3.0...
متن کاملThe electrodeposition of zinc alloys from ionic liquid electrolytes
Electrodeposited zinc alloys have long been recognised as effective barrier and sacrificial coatings for ferrous substrates. The effect of alloying zinc with, in the main, more noble metals, has produced finishes of higher corrosion resistance than simply electrodeposited zinc. In this manner zinc alloys such as zinc-nickel, zinc-cobalt and zinc-iron are routinely electrodeposited on an industr...
متن کاملAnodic oxide formation on aluminium-terbium alloys
Aluminium terbium alloys were prepared by simultaneous thermal evaporation resulting in a thin film library covering a 5 to 25 at.% Tb compositional spread. Synchrotron x-ray diffraction (XRD) proves all of the alloys to be amorphous. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) measurements reveal the structural changes upon increase in Tb content with the formation of small, Tb-rich segregations right ...
متن کاملFeatures and Challenges of Molten Oxide Electrolytes for Metal Extraction
The electrolytic decomposition of metal oxides to metal and oxygen is an extractive metallurgy principle that, when coupled with carbon-free electricity, drastically mitigates the global warming impact of metal production. The present perspective discusses the electrochemical engineering features of an unconventional electrolyte, molten oxides. A survey of its thermodynamic properties suggests ...
متن کاملThrough-Hole, Self-Ordered Nanoporous Oxide Layers on Titanium, Niobium and Titanium–Niobium Alloys in Aqueous and Organic Nitrate Electrolytes
In the past decades, a variety of self-aligned functional oxides have successfully been grown on a wide range of metals using electrochemical, self-organizing anodization. The earliest reports on highly ordered oxide structures included porous aluminum oxide layers grown by optimized anodization of Al in oxalic acid. These nanoporous oxides found a considerable number of direct applications, su...
